Kim & Ray:
Owners and managers of HHF, Kim & Ray are both graduates of Laurentian University and hold Honours degrees in Physical and Health Education (BPHE). Kim has been teaching for 16 years and has had experience teaching at a therapeutic riding facility. Ray has been riding for over 25 years and is called upon to assist whenever needed. They have lived here for eight years and have run the camp for the past seven. Both are St. John Ambulance volunteers in the Therapy Dog program. Together since high school, Kim & Ray enjoy sharing their lives with their many, many pets. Running the farm and everything associated with it is something they hope to do for many years to come!

Alexa:
This year marks Alexa’s seventh year here at HHF. Currently in her third year at the University of Guelph in the Animal Biology program, Alexa is Kim's right-hand and head counsellor. She has been riding since the age of four and has been teaching here for the past five years. Alexa has also volunteered at a therapeutic riding facility. She is a valued, respected and loved member of the HHF family. Her smiling face, friendly attitude and "Big Sister" mentality help all kids feel at ease both on and off the horses.

Horses

Red (Red’s Caramel Kid):
HHF’s ‘grandpa’,at 29 years young, Red is our retired dun Quarter Horse. In his glory days, Red competed in barrel racing.

Sonny (Sonny Boy):
26 year old chestnut Quarter Horse/Arabian cross, he is another one of our retirees. Sonny was Kim’s first horse and made a great trail horse and jumping partner.

Polo (CB Suspense):*Ribbon Winning Show Horse*
20 year old grey Arabian who thinks he is still a three year old! Polo is great for the more advanced rider as loves to jump and show off.

Doc (Doc Hollywood): *Ribbon Winning Show Horse*
18 year old tri-coloured Quarter Horse. As Kim says, “He is the most perfect horse in the world!” Doc really loves teaching beginners and takes excellent care of all his riders. Doc is a great show partner for those interested in flat classes.

Blue (Pin Blue Terrier): *Ribbon Winning Show Horse*
9 year old Paint/Hackney cross who is too smart for his own good! Blue is ridden by riders of all levels and is an extremely talented boy. Blue excells in the jumper show ring.

Rogue (Wata Rogue): *Ribbon Winning Show Horse*
16 year old bay Quarter Horse/Welsh cross. Rogue is pleasantly plump so he makes a very comfortable ride for students of all levels. Before he came to us, Rogue was quite the show pony and won many ribbons in jumping classes.

Gamble (What are the Odds): *Ribbon Winning Show Pony*
Gamble is a paint-coloured eight year old Shetland pony. Even though his nickname is “Speedy Gonzales” he is a very kind and playful pony who is an excellent little jumper, bringing home ribbons in various classes. Gamble is a fun ride for everyone!

Strapper (On Good Advice):
The smallest pony in our herd, Strapper is a 13 year old black Shetland pony cross. Strapper is very calm and will stand for hours to be brushed. He is a good choice for our smallest riders, but whoever rides him must be determined because he can be a bit lazy!

Charmer (Rainbow's Charm): *Champion Show Horse*
Charmer is an 11 year old chestnut Appaloosa/Quarter Horse cross. He’s a pretty laid back guy and is a good choice for all ability levels. Once you get him going, Charmer has a lovely rocking horse canter and can easily jump 3'. Charmer has many championships to his name.

Rokey (Taproot Rokaby):
22 year old bay Morgan Horse. Rokey belongs to one of our boarders and is enjoying his retirement here with his best friend, Sonny.

Wellington (He's So Regal): *Champion Show Horse*
Wellington is a 4 year old black and white Paint/Percheron cross gelding. "Welly" is by far the biggest horse in the barn and is great over fences and on the flat. He is honest and brave to every jump and when not being used as a show/camp horse will be going out on the hunt field. Our newest and largest addition is already a champion show horse.

Coaster (SS Coastal Star): *Ribbon Winning Show Horse*
Coaster is a 10 year old buckskin Appendix Quarter Horse. Standing at 16.1 hh, Coaster is the second tallest horse in the barn. Although previously ridden Western, he has taken to English riding like a champ. He has very comfortable gaits and is a pleasure to ride. Coaster is a very easy going, nothing phases him kind of guy! He enjoys doing things at his own slow pace. Anybody from beginner to advanced can ride this boy. Coaster belongs to one of our boarders and is a very much loved addition to the HHF family!
