Humans

Kim & Ray:
Owners and managers of HHF, Kim & Ray are both graduates of Laurentian University and hold Honours degrees in Physical and Health Education (BPHE). Kim has been teaching for many years and has had experience teaching at a therapeutic riding facility. Ray has been riding for over 25 years and is called upon to assist whenever needed. Both are St. John Ambulance volunteers in the Therapy Dog program. Together since high school, Kim and Ray enjoy sharing their lives with their many, many pets. Running the farm and everything associated with it is something they hope to do for many years to come!

Alexa:
This year marks Alexa’s ninth year here at HHF. Alexa graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours degree in Animal Biology and a minor in Agriculture (BSc), and is now pursuing a Masters in Animal Behaviour and Welfare and Guelph. She has been riding since the age of four and has been teaching here for the past seven years. Alexa has also volunteered at a therapeutic riding facility and currently fosters dogs in Guelph.

Alanna:
Alanna is now a senior student in high school. She has been learning lessons from both the humans and horses at Hangar Haven Farm for nearly ten years. She has won multiple ribbons and championships at the local schooling and jumper shows and volunteers at HHF whenever possible. Though sciences have become her forte, she also finds great joy in the arts. Alanna hopes to continue her devotion to horses through school and beyond. She is a valued member of our HHF family and with her warm personality and smile she makes everyone who comes to the farm feel at home. Alanna has taught many riders and continues to be involved in all aspects of the farm.

Our Horses

Polo (CB Suspense):*Champion Show Horse*
Older, flea-bitten grey, 15 hh Arabian who thinks he is still a three year old! Polo is great for the more advanced rider as he loves to jump and show off.

Blue (Pin Blue Terrier): *Champion Show Horse*
Teenaged 14.2 hh Paint/Hackney cross who is too smart for his own good! Blue is ridden by riders of all levels and is an extremely talented boy. Blue excells in the jumper show ring.

Rogue (Wata Rogue): *Ribbon Winning Show Horse*
Teenaged 14.1 hh bay Quarter Horse/Welsh cross. Rogue is pleasantly plump so he makes a very comfortable ride for students of all levels. Before he came to us, Rogue was quite the show pony and won many ribbons in the show ring.

Gamble (What are the Odds): *Champion Show Pony*
Gamble is a 11.3 hh, teenaged Shetland paint pony. Even though his nickname is “Speedy Gonzales” he is a very kind and playful pony who is an excellent little jumper, bringing home ribbons in various classes. Gamble is a fun ride for everyone!

Strapper (On Good Advice):*Ribbon Winning Show Pony*
The smallest pony in our herd at 11 hh, Strapper is a teenaged black Shetland pony cross. Strapper is very calm and will stand for hours to be brushed. He is a good choice for our smallest riders, but whoever rides him must be determined because he can be a bit stubborn!

Charmer (Rainbow's Charm): *Champion Show Horse*
Charmer is an teenaged, 15.2 hh chestnut Appaloosa/Quarter Horse cross. He’s a pretty laid back guy and is a good choice for all ability levels. Once you get him going, Charmer has a lovely rocking horse canter and can easily jump 3'. Charmer has many championships to his name.

Wellington (He's So Regal): *Champion Show Horse*
Wellington is a young, 16 hh black and white Paint/Percheron cross gelding. "Welly" is by far the widest horse in the barn and is great over fences and on the flat. He is honest and brave to every jump and when not being used as a show/camp horse, he enjoys going out on the hunt field.

Major (Full Circle): *Champion Show Horse*
Major is a teenaged, 15.3 hh dark bay Quarter Horse-Percheron cross. Riders of all ability levels can enjoy this horse. He's great for beginner lessons and 3' jumper courses. In addition to this, Major is a reliable hunt-horse and enjoys galloping through the fields.

Cruise (Cruise Control): *Champion Show Horse*
Cruise is a young 15.2 hh Clydesdale/Hackney cross. He is a superstar on the hunt field, and also excels in the jumper ring. Although he is a draft cross he can turn on a dime! He has three very comfortable gaits, and is the best horse to gain confidence jumping with. Cruise is a favourite of many of our riders.

Mosaic (Definitely Different): *Champion Show Horse*
Mosaic is a young, 16.2 hh Clydesdale/Thoroughbred/Paint Cross. Although young, he has already been hunting and performs fabulously. In the ring, he is learning about flat-work and jumps. Mosaic is an extremely kind horse with impeccable ground manners. He is very unique looking and has quite a large fan club at the farm!

Jac (Cadillac Jac):*Champion Show Horse*
Jac is a young 14.2 hh black Canadian gelding. Before coming to us, Jac competeted sucessfully in many hunter shows. He is now taking things a bit easier in our lesson program, and is already getting quite the fan club!

Boarder's Horses

Hollister (Partner in Crime):*Ribbon Winning Show Horse*
Hollister is a young, bay, 16 hh Holsteiner/Warmblood gelding. He is a wonderful hunt horse, and a Grand-Prix trained jumper. He has a very kind and calm nature. While he is a boarder, Hollister is also used in the lesson program.

Rokey (Taproot Rokaby):
Elderly 14.1 hh bay Morgan Horse. In his younger years, Rokey was a show horse but is now enjoying his retirement here on the farm.

Rocky:
Rocky is a young, roan 15.1 hh Quarter horse.

Callie:*Ribbon Winning Show Horse*
Callie is a teenaged, 15.1 hh, black, Thoroughbred-Morgan cross. Callie was formerly used for eventing competitions, later switching to dressage, and is now enjoying her career as a lovely all-around mount.

Liam:
Liam is a teenaged, 15.3 hh chestnut Appendix gelding. Liam is very well trained in dressage, and is a well-behaved boy!

Bosco:
Bosco is a young 16 hh bay Quarter Horse gelding. Bosco winters at HHF. He is a lovely hunter horse, and hopes to be competing in the near future.
