CAMPS

Hangar Haven Farm offers the ultimate sleepover horse camp experience that welcomes both girls and boys age seven and up. Our goal is to provide a fun, exciting week of both horse and traditional camp activities. Instruction is given to campers in areas such as equine health, care, stabling and safety. English riding lessons are given in small groups with riders of the same ability level. We believe that each camper should be allowed to progress at their own pace during the week. To keep campers safe yet challenged, all lesson activities are tailored to suit the abilities and interests of each rider within the group.

While fun is important at camp, we make safety a priority. We pride ourselves on our barn full of kid-friendly dogs, cats and horses. Hangar Haven Farm is entering its ninth year of overnight summer camps. We are proud to be an Ontario Equestrian Federation accredited facility with all staff having their first-aid and CPR up to date.

Our goal is to provide your child with smiles and lasting memories of their horseback riding experiences here at Hangar Haven Farm.

Camp Fee - $650 first week / $550 additional weeks (All taxes included.)

GENERAL RESIDENTIAL CAMPS

These camps cater to all riding levels, from beginner to advanced. From Sunday evening to Friday afternoon, campers ride, take part in horsemanship, hike, craft, swim and much, much more. Campers are placed in groups that best fit their riding ability and spend between two to three hours per day riding in addition to several more hours spent around the horses. Lessons are conducted in small groups (maximum five) to allow for personalized attention. In the evenings, we have a wide selection of nighttime activities such as, campfires, night hikes, games, and onsite movie nights. Spaces are limited to 10 campers per week to complement our family-oriented atmosphere. Camp concludes on Friday afternoon with “Demo Day”, where campers show their parents what they have learned throughout the week. Don’t hold your horses…book now!

ADVANCED RESIDENTIAL CAMP

These camps are all about horses, horses, and more horses! The Advanced Camps are tailored to riders who are comfortable riding outside of a ring and consistently jump a 2 foot course in their lessons. Campers ride for up to three hours per day, however, unlike General Camps, these riders experience one in-ring lesson and one hack (trail ride) daily. There is no Demo Day for these camps to allow for more riding time. Camp features include many advanced horsemanship topics, such as lunging, trailering, show prep, first aid, etc. This camp is open to 10 campers.

WEEKEND CAMPS 2009/2010

For a special weekend getaway, HHF offers weekend camps. Campers are dropped off Friday after school and stay until Sunday afternoon. These camps are designed for riders who can comfortably walk, trot and canter in the ring. If the elements allow, we like to take the campers on a hack (trail ride) to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Otherwise, lessons take place in the arena. These camps offer special off-site Saturday evening activities (no extra cost). We are flexible with dates so camps can run any weekend of the month. Please contact us for scheduling a weekend! Available to five campers per session.

TESTIMONIAL: "It has been almost 9 years since my son began going to Hangar Haven Farm; he was 7 years old at the time. I can still remember his first day, knowing nothing about horses, let alone riding them. Now he competes in competitions around the Bethany area, as well as through his school. He has gone from barely being able to walk on a horse to jumping jumps at 3' 3"! Kim, Ray and Alexa have not only taught him to ride, but to respect and look after the animals, to know how to strive to be better, to be safe around horses, and above all, to have fun doing it…If it were up to him, I would drop him off the fist day that school was done and pick him back up the day school started back in the fall. At Hangar Haven Farm, the children learn so much more then just riding; they learn to have self-confidence and pride in what they can do - and what better way to show that off to their parents than at Demo Day! You cannot put a price on the pride and happiness you feel for your child as they sit atop a horse with a smile on their face that goes from ear to ear. I cannot say enough about Hangar Haven Farm and what they have taught my son. I can only recommend this farm and its camps to anyone who wants their children to learn and have fun at the same time. It is an experience your child will never forget!"
